There are many investments in life that you take and wonder if they are worth it in the end. After working with Jen Uhlmansiek for the past 4 months, I can say this is an investment that is definitely worth taking. At the age of 28, I weighed 235 lbs. I suffered from numerous physical ailments including back, hip, knee, and foot pain. I could barely keep up with my 4 year old son and wasn’t able to do all the things that I wanted to do. I hated what I saw in the mirror and I avoided having my picture taken like the plague. I haven’t flown back to the west coast to visit friends and family in almost 8 years because I was ashamed of how I looked. After many failed diets and workout regimens, I had actually given up on the idea of ever being able to lose weight.
When my best friend announced she was getting married and I was in the wedding party, I had decided to take a chance and invest in a personal trainer. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. In a little over 4 months, with the help of Jen, I have dropped 55 lbs and went from a size 22W to a size 12, a number I haven’t seen in 8 years. I no longer suffer from any physical ailments and I can keep up with my son. I have more energy now, and my self-esteem has never been higher. I no longer hide from the camera; in fact I have actually posted pictures of myself for the first time ever on my Facebook page. I’m also planning to fly home to Seattle for the first time in 8 years this summer.
Jen is more than just a personal trainer; she is my coach, my motivator, my cheerleader, my nutritionist, and my counselor. Words cannot express my appreciation towards Jen, and how truly thankful I am to finally have my life back. Although I am only at the halfway point in my weight loss journey, I know I can finally achieve my goal of 130 lbs. I have no doubt that I could not have made it this far without the help, guidance, and encouragement of Jen. So, I just want to say a huge thank you to the best trainer ever for making me love the person I see in the mirror again.
